for clarinet, percussion, piano, guitar, violin, and violoncello
“.. ‘on the earth’ already means ‘under the sky.’
Both of these also mean ‘remaining before the divinities’
and include a ‘belonging to one’s being with another’.
..by a primal oneness, the four
(earth and sky, divinities and mortals)
belong together in one.
Building, Dwelling, Thinking
This work consists of four material layers analogous to this sensation of dwelling –– a memory drawn from my own experiences in and around Stirk Park, Kalamunda. A clarinet diad announces the trace of, or our waiting for the divinities.
